Final Week in Alpine

This was our Mon.-Thurs. list of to-do's before pulling out Friday morning (which turned out to be Friday 5pm before we were left!).  

Spencer King, Devon's friend, came with his Dad to help us clean the house.  Thanks you guys!  Thanks also to Gary Bingham, whose picture I didn't get, but he did an awesome job cleaning the dining room!  Devon showed Spencer the "drop and lick" with the Wintergreen oil. Yummy!  Quite refreshing.  

Dev and Spencer dared each other to put a dot of Oregano essential oil on their faces.  You can see the red spot where Dev put his.  He knew just what to do as it began to sting- dilute with coconut oil :) 

Nicky organized a picnic lunch on a sheet while the rest of us cleaned the house.  It was nice for the T's to have something fun to do!

This was our final load of stuff to donate to the D.I. 

While we were packing up the truck, the T's watched a movie on the dining room floor.

We stopped by the Moore's house so Emily could say goodbye to Mackey.

Everything was packed into the very end of the truck where they shoved in the last thing- our mattress.  Awesome packing job guys!

We stopped at Burger King (I got a sandwich at Kneaders- love that place!) on our way out.

Colin and Emily drove the moving truck with Keta.  At first, Colin and Emily were sneezing and getting allergies like crazy from Keta!  They started using lavender- they each put a few drops under their tongues, and their allergies went away completely and didn't return!  Go oils!

So long, Baby Grand

There's a picture of me with my stuffed animal Dalmatian dog sitting next to me at this piano when I was about 9 years old.  So, I did the same pose (minus the dog) right before the piano movers came to take our piano to the Goddards' where it will stay while we're gone!

Calvin's friends

Calvin's friends came over and helped us clean and move boxes to the truck.  They were a great help and so fun to have around! Thanks you guys! 

Tyler, Elisa, and Misha 

The kids read tons of bed time stories in the tent.  One of the many things we sold was the triplet's bed, so they slept in this tent with sleeping bags for about a week.  It was great fun!

More Alpine goodbye stuff

Emily and her good friend Stephanie.  They came up with a game since everything was packed.  They used tupperware lids and a ball to swat back and forth! 

I'm glad we took a picture of the paper temple Emily made because it got torn up in our move.

Calvin decided to cut open this cactus that he had.  It was surprisingly juicy on the inside!

Legal Graffiti Wall

Devon has been wanting to spray paint on a legal graffiti wall for about a year now. So we decided to take him before moving....who knows if there's another legal graffiti wall anywhere else in the world besides UT?  His eyes do appear quite shiny, and the thing hanging around his neck is a gas mask (he doesn't like to breathe in spray paint fumes).  His design is the red, yellow, and blue.  "ARWG" which stands for "Around The World Graffiti." 

Christmas dinner

It seemed quiet (maybe not- it's not ever really quiet) on Christmas being just us!  We still had our traditional Pasta Fajole soup and Shepherd's bread for dinner.  Yum!

Christmas Eve dinner

We went to Chili's on Christmas Eve and did something fun.  Colin took this sneaky picture of a family behind us, who we had decided to do an act of kindness for.  We anonymously paid for their dinner because Colin read a neat article once about a family who does that every year, so we decided to make it a tradition.  The kids were expecting tears of joy, but they just kind of left with no reaction.  Maybe they were in shock. :)  

Wise man

Devon and Emily got to participate in the Christmas Eve program at our Alpine Ward.  Devon calls this his "shower hat."  Emily was an angel, but we didn't get a picture of her because she was behind some other angels.

Temple Square

We visited Temple Square one last time before moving.  We listened to a local high school sing Christmas songs in the tabernacle, and enjoyed the beautiful lights.

Because we had packed most of their toys, Tiffany got creative and made a doll out of fabric, yarn, and 2 bead eyes which we glued on.  She was so proud of her doll!

Iceskating!

Even though Dec. was a little insane with Christmas, and getting all packed and ready to move, we decided to take a break and do something fun....iceskating was a huge hit!  We had been at court for a few hours waiting for our turn.  We did the legal name change for Tameeka so that Shiloh is now her middle name.  Once we were finally in front of the judge, it took less than 3 min. for him to grant permission to do the name change and he was really nice too.  He said he appreciated us bringing our kids to court as an educational experience (we had told him we home school).  After court, we were ready to do something fun!

Caged

We got this indoor cage for Keta the dog when it gets too cold out at night.  For about a week, the T's thought it was great fun to play in the cage!  They would cover it with blankets and played in it like a fort.  Then it got old. :)
