Happy Birthday, Calvin and Tyrese!!!

After church, the Jensens and us were asked to visit two boys from our branch who are temporarily staying at an orphanage.  We brought their dad with us, and they had a nice visit together.  On the way home, we got stuck in a rut (literally!).  Some very nice Guatemalan men (and a few drunk ones) came to our rescue.  They pushed us out of the hole.  No Tripple A around here, so we're thankful for the people who have lifted us out (again, literally)  of these situations (this is the second time something embarrassing like this has happened....luckily both times Colin was at the wheel and not me!).

Back home and on to the birthday celebrations!

A touching card from Devon made Calvin a little teary-eyed
I love you, my wonderful and amazing 17 year old son!
Happy birthday, my 7 year old sweetheart!  We love you, Ty!

Party Animal!
Friends over later to celebrate with some yummy chocolate cupcakes (made with honey, coconut oil, and whole wheat flour....a huge hit!).

Installing more stoves for Calvin's Eagle Project!

Here are some photos of some of our recent stove installations.  I think we only have 3 or 4 left to go! Thank you again for all those who donated.  You have made a huge difference in these people's lives.

Passing by a religious service in Lake Atitlan.
I didn't go on this trip, but Calvin later told me it was the smallest home he's seen yet.
This is the mother of the home.  I love the peace you can see in her eyes.
This is their bathroom.  One of the nicer ones we've seen actually.
This is where the dish washing, clothes washing, and personal hygene is done....in the Pila.

Beyond adorable!
Thanks again, Terry family for helping out!  Jessica gave a home made doll to the sweet Guatemalan girl.
This elderly woman has no teeth and struggles daily to get enough nutrition in her.  In the states she would be in a hospital hooked up to an IV.

So excited to have their new stove!!!  It was so greatly needed in this home, and now this beautiful family doesn't have to breathe in smoke every time they cook.

Happy Birthday, Colin!

We spent Colin's birthday up at our friend's property, helping them renovate their new home!  Here's Rachel, making a rock border in the front.  Nicolas, the man in the background, turned 70 recently.  He works like a 30 year old!  Calvin has been his assistant in the bathroom project, tearing out tiles and everything else that goes along with creating a beautiful functional bathroom.  He's been teaching Calvin quite a bit of Katchikal (Spanish dialect- not sure how to spell it)
Lucy and Kyah busy painting!
Colin the electrician with Greg his assistant.  Colin wired the whole house!  It was quite a shocking experience,  but luckily nothing too major.  He learned a lot and is quite proficient in the trade now:)
Nice work, Calvin!  Demolition rocks.
Zucchini bread cake
1, 2...
3!  Wish I had gotten a picture of us together.  Love you honey!

We scrubbed and we scrubbed:)  You should see the floor now!

Jumping off a high cliff

Colin, who is Young Men's President in our Pana branch, went on a youth activity trip with the kids.  Here they are on a boat heading over to San Marcos to do some cliff jumping!

Sister Olgla- she's awesome!
Not quite sure if I'd ride a boat that's named "Titanic"....

Go Calvin!

Watch him fall to the water.... (great photography, Colin!)

Mauri, giving his friend an encouraging nudge
Looks like Dev is doing the Tarzan yell...Ahhhhhh ahhhh ahhhh ahhhhhhh!
I love these home made log boats

On the way home, and off at the boat dock!
