Nature Walk

This was our first official day of school!  The older kids stayed home and did school with Colin, while I took the younger ones to Swinging Bridge.  They had their nature bags to collect items.  Ty ended up dumping out all his "treasures" when he found a grasshopper.  He caught it with his bag and was so excited to show it to "the boys" and Dad when he got home!  Tiffany didn't want to collect anything in her bag, and Tameeka got a few items.  So, I put a bunch of things in a bag, and when we got home, the kids glued flowers and leaves onto paper.  A smashing success and so fun to be in the woods!

SLC library

We went to the SLC library.  Highlights were: the statues and water fountain out front, the elevator inside, the cool rooms in the kid's section- ice cave and log cabin, climbing to the roof of the building and spitting from the top, and the big stuffed giraffe.  Books?  There were books there?  Such a fun place!

Lunch in Wells

We stopped at a nice park in Wells, NV to eat lunch on the way back to UT.  On the way to the park, a rough looking sort of guy was yelling and waving his arms at us.  We stopped, and he said, "you're dragging your bike!"  He was a nice guy and we were grateful he flagged us down (and glad we stopped instead of being scared of him!).  We secured our bike and made our way to the park.

Reading time with Ma!  The Snickerdoodles and apple cinnamon tea made it extra cozy.  Colin was gone hiking Mt. Whitney, so we had a girl party :)

Leyvas

We had a fun time with the Leyvas while visiting in Sparks!  This was a game they made up which involved smacking  exercise balls into the goals.  Left to right: Hunter, Nick, Dev, Jordan, Ryan, Calvin, Brandon

The kids had a blast at the Ludlows  playing a game called "Farkle."  I'm not sure how it is played, but there was a lot of laughter and not wanting to leave when it was time to go!  

FHE with the Muellers

We had a yummy sub sandwich dinner, then a fun FHE!   

Everyone divided into teams and acted out a Bible or Book of Mormon story.  It was a blast and fun to see everyone's creativity!  Mike and Devon did the story of Moses.

Colin and I dropped the kids off to watch Nic's game while we filmed a doTERRA event.  After seeing the pictures, one would conclude that the kids had a pretty wild and crazy time without us! (Calvin was the camera man I think) 

Dan, Kathy, Ally, and Cody drove into town just in time for the end of the game!
