Car school, and Kelloggs

As long as there's a bathroom with a plug, you can drink green smoothies while camping!
Oops! I guess this hammock's time is up.
Great way to wake up!

Before watching a movie, we did school first.  Em and Calvin are helping Ty read his "Bob" book.

Fun dinner and 2 days with the Kelloggs!
We camped in their backyard and even though it was AZ, the heat wasn't too unbearable.
We love this family!!

Arrived to TX!

We accidentally crossed into the U.S. illegally, (we missed the turn for stamping out of MX...wow that border crossing only took like 5 min!).  We had to turn around and go into MX again, then come back out and into the U.S.  Took about an hour or so, but not too shabby.  We got some lunch and ate at a park

Found a nice campsite and set up for the night early this time! We went on a fun night-walk, searching for animals.  Saw a few small animals and I think an ardvark.
Reading scriptures the next morning.

Nice photo-bomb, Em!
At first we thought these were "scorpion stick bugs" but after letting them crawl all over their faces and not getting stung by the scorpion looking stinger on the back, we determined they were harmless.  Plus the ranger the night before didn't know anything about these insects, even though they were everywhere!

There were caterpillars everywhere too....even dropping out of the trees! I finally got used to seeing one randomly on my shirt.

Cruising along the freeway, we heard a pop! Calvin pulled over, and we assessed the damage.  Our trailer tire was shredded!

Do you guys need any help? If not, I'll just be here waiting eating my grapefruit.....

Colin pulled off a chunk of metal (good thing I married such a strong fella), and we secured some duct tape on the side to keep the rest from rubbing on the spare tire.

We made a detour to Houston so I could meet Raw Kristina! I've been following her stuff for years, and she's been a huge part of my raw food studies.  She was so nice, and it was a privilege to meet her! She had been shooting video at her house, but she came to meet us when she heard we had driven all the way from Guatemala :)
Helping put produce boxes together while we waited for Kristina.

This juice was the BOMB!

Kristina bought some Mayan Treasure jewelry! As you can see, she already loves bracelets :)
Setting up camp for the night.

Camping thru MX

We arrived at a camp site and opened our food box, only to discover lots of broken glass and messy sauce that had spilled everywhere!
This camp site said "closed" but it was late at night when we arrived and we had no other options.  The next morning the guardian arrived, and only charged us $10 for staying the night!
Making pancakes in the trailer for breakfast!

Camping by the ocean is awesome!
Drive-by temple view!  I can't remember what city we were in, but it was MX somewhere.
I adapted this cucumber zucchini "pasta" with mango and avocado sauce recipe from rullyraw.com.  Yum!
Road side tortilla stand, with chicken tacos. The "bean soup" had maybe 5 beans in a cup with lots of broth and spicy chillies! (we poured them out).
