Our drive to Guatemala!

I guess you could say it didn't start out all that smooth! This was in the middle of TX or AZ (I forget where we were). Em and I were driving the truck, and pebbles in front of us were getting kicked up, and one of them completely shattered my window as we were doing 60 on the freeway! It took a few seconds to register the loud noise right by my head.  Even though I was shaking and Em and I were bewildered, I calmly made my way to the exit while Em told Dad in the walkie-talkie what had just happened.  Bizzarre! Not a single shard of glass hurt me though. We waited an extra day before continuing on, and had it repaired in the morning.
Car boredom.
There's an adorable video of Tameeka singing "Let it go" (without the carrot in her mouth) that I'm not sure how to put up on the blog yet.
Coming up to the border....
We were early and they hadn't opened yet, so the kids played ninja freeze-tag and other things while we waiting for a couple hours.

We had met up with the Jensens in TX.  So fun to travel together!

It was fun getting pics of the dogs on our trip, so Em could stay connected.

Devon, with Josh as co-pilot, drove almost the whole way!
Ty and David staying occupied in the car with games, snacks, and movies
It must have been one of those 10 hour driving days.  Greg looks tired.

It's so convenient how these guys pop out of nowhere to clean your windshield while you're waiting at a stop light.  I mess these guys when we're in the states!

Girl car!

Nice fancy hotel where you get to flush your own toilet.

Huge drop off at the end of the outside hallway.

Sometimes the Jensen's car just needs a little help to get started.
It worked!

Luckily, our morning started out slow with getting cell phones switched over before we crossed the border.  We kept getting detained, and when we finally neared the border, we learned about this, and decided to wait an extra day.  Smooth and calm when we crossed the next day, with no signs of any trouble!

There's a problem, and we have no idea what it is, but we sure look like we do!

Yay, it worked again!
This is how we drove- Jensens up front, Dev and Josh (sometimes Em) in the middle, and the Excursion in the back.  We had fun with our walkie-talkies the whole way, and it was nice having Greg warn us of those crazy unexpected topes! (speedbumps)

Hotel breakfast in no-man's land at the border MX-Guate
We sent this pic to Calvin

Loading up with water and fruit at the border.

This little guy was asking for food and he was so cute, so we gave him a granola bar.

Apparently they didn't have a garbage can.
We had a couple more hours until we got home, but we decided to stay at this hotel in Xela for the night (later found out it was pouring rain in Pana, so we were glad Greg felt prompted to stop, or else unloading would have been very wet).
So ready for bed!

doTERRA Guatemala Healing Hands

We met up with the doTERRA group in Antigua where we visited the Cardamom oil distillery.  The bus didn't quite make it u the drive-way!

Cardamom!

Fancy lunch!

Ty wasn't as excited about all the greens as I was!
Sold some jewelry at lunch!

Made it to Guate!

Dropped Jensens off in San Jose, then ran into some problems down one of those skinny streets in Solola.  Slightly tagged a car as we tried to pass.  The owner was around luckily, and kindly moved his car.  No damage.
Love this view! Lake Atitlan and the volcanoes!
